A clipboard manager for Windows

Copy it. Capture it. Reuse it.

Your replies, clipboard history and screenshots in one small window. Open it anywhere, find anything in seconds, then paste it straight in.

Free forever Pro is $29 once No subscription

If your job lives in your inbox, you type the same things every day. The same greeting, the same directions, the same ‘here’s what happens next’.

You’ve got them stashed in a notes file, an old draft, and a Word doc called FINAL-v3. And you still retype half of them from memory.

Copychest is where they live instead.

Every reply you’re proud of, saved once, filed properly, and dropped into your email in seconds.

Have a go. Click a reply, then paste it.

These three are ours. Yours would be the ones you are sick of typing.

What Copychest does

The Quick Panel: your replies, on top of whatever you’re doing.

You’re halfway through an email. Press the shortcut and a small Copychest window appears over the top of it, holding your saved replies and everything you’ve copied lately. Click the one you want and it lands straight where you were typing, and the panel disappears again. Same over a form, a chat window or a spreadsheet: you never leave the thing you were doing.

And the screenshots you take land in the same place.

Press the shortcut and drag a box round whatever you need to show someone. Copychest freezes the screen, hands you the shot and opens it ready to mark up: an arrow on the thing that matters, a blur over the bits nobody else needs to see. Save, and it’s sitting in your list with everything else you were about to send.

Capturing and marking up are free, and your finished images are yours to keep. With Pro, reopen a saved capture any time to edit its annotations.

Your best replies, ready before the kettle’s boiled.

Save the emails, answers and blurbs you send every week into projects that match how you work. When you need one, type a word from it and click. That’s the whole job.

Templates that fill in the details for you.

Set up a reply once with gaps for the name, the date, the order number. Copychest asks for the gaps and hands you the finished message. No more Dear-wrong-name.

That thing you copied an hour ago? Still there.

Copychest quietly keeps your clipboard history, so the address, link or paragraph you copied over something else is one search away instead of gone. Pick a few and it hands them over one at a time, in order, for the forms that want six fields.

Nothing leaves your computer.

The things you copy all day are the things you’d least like sitting on somebody else’s server: client emails, candidate details, phone numbers, and now the screenshots you take of them. No account, no cloud. Everything you save, and every picture you capture, stays on your own machine.

It won’t even record a password you copy, and there’s no switch to turn that off.

More detail, in the privacy policy.

Weighing us up against a subscription? We’ve put Copychest and TextExpander side by side, honest disqualifiers included.

Questions, answered straight.

Windows already has a clipboard history (Win+V). Why this?

Win+V remembers the last few things you copied, and if that’s genuinely all you need, it’s free and it’s already on your machine. What it can’t do is hold the replies you send every week, fill in the name and the date for you, or still have last Tuesday’s address in it. That’s the part that eats your afternoon, and that’s the part Copychest fixes. Win+V stops at 25 items, and that’s the least of it: we’ve written up the Windows clipboard history limits in full. The free tier costs nothing, so you can find out on your own computer instead of taking our word for it.

What does $29 actually buy?

Copychest Pro, for good. The license is yours forever and every 1.x update is included. No renewal, no subscription, no asking again next year.

Can I just buy Pro without the trial?

Of course. Buy Pro and your key appears the moment you have paid, ready for whenever you install the app. If you already know, we are not going to make you wait.

What happens when the trial ends?

After your Pro trial ends, Copychest returns to the free plan. Your data and finished annotated images stay on your computer. Free-plan limits apply again, and reopening saved captures to edit their annotations requires Pro.

How many computers?

One person, up to 3 of your own computers, and you can move the license between machines yourself whenever you like. Buying for a team? Buy seats for your team, one per person: everyone gets their own license and their own 3 computers, and you invite them by email once you have paid. If someone leaves, you can free their seat and give it to somebody else.

Do I need to be techy?

No. If you can copy and paste, you can use Copychest. It installs like any other Windows program and there’s nothing to set up.

Refunds?

14 days, no quibble. If Pro isn’t for you, email us within 14 days of buying and we’ll refund you in full. The refund policy has the details.

What data do you collect?

Almost none. Everything you save stays on your own computer. Screenshots are stored as ordinary image files in Copychest’s own folder — we never see any of it. The app talks to the internet for two jobs only: checking for updates and checking a Pro license key with our payment provider. The privacy policy is short enough to actually read.

Does Copychest store my passwords?

No. When you copy a password from your password manager, Copychest deliberately skips it, so it never reaches your history and never touches your disk. Copying and pasting works exactly as normal. This is always on, and it’s the same thing Windows’ own clipboard history does.

Mac?

Not yet. Copychest is Windows only for the moment.

Still typing it out by hand?

Copychest is free to download and free to keep using. If it earns its place, Pro is $29 once and it is yours for good.
